Dr. Daniel Gatto

After graduating from the University of Nebraska, School of Dentistry in 1972, Dr. Gatto and his wife, Emily, departed for a two-year tour of duty in the United States Air Force Dental Corp. They were stationed at Grisham Air Force Base, Indiana until May of 1974 when the University of Minnesota Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery accepted Dr. Gatto for residency training. Following the residency training, he started a full time faculty position as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Later he was granted an assistant professorship in the Department of Anesthesia in the School of Medicine. After seven years of full time service in the residency program, Dr. Gatto was then named acting graduate director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program.
Along with these duties, he ventured into private practice in the Maplewood area in July of 1984. Approximately four years later, he left his position at the University of Minnesota to enter full time private practice, and was joined by Dr. Marshall Wade. He has practiced the full scope of the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has been active in a number of local, regional and national organizations. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was named a Top Dentist by Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine. He was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and following graduation in 1972 he was married to his wife, Emily. They raised two children, who are now grown and on their own. Dr. and Mrs. Gatto currently reside in the White Bear Lake area of St. Paul. They enjoy a number of activities together, including travel, hiking, fine dining, and especially the never-ending challenge to master the game of golf.
